Sadia J. Shafi, MD, FACC
She is a board-certified, non-invasive cardiologist with expertise and board certifications in cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. She also holds advanced vascular‐ultrasound training (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation).
She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC)
She completed Internal Medicine Residency at Georgetown University Hospital and went on to complete Cardiology Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
Prior to joining Padder Health, Dr. Shafi practiced at Luminis Health Cardiology Specialists (formerly Anne Arundel Medical Group Cardiology Specialists) in Annapolis, Maryland, where she served as a non-invasive cardiologist for 10 years.
Her clinical interests span preventative cardiology, women’s heart health—including pregnancy-related cardiovascular care, peri- and post-menopausal heart health, and sports cardiology, with particular focus on optimizing cardiovascular performance and exercise safety. She takes a holistic, whole-person approach, integrating each patient’s complete medical history, lifestyle, and wellness goals to create personalized heart-care plans.
Dr. Shafi has been recognized by her peers as a Top Doctor in Cardiology by Washingtonian Magazine every year from 2015 to the present (2025), reflecting her commitment to exceptional and compassionate patient care.
Outside of caring for patients, she’s a competitive tennis player and a (slightly reluctant) pickleball enthusiast, bringing the same energy and passion to staying active as she does to her practice.
